Teghan Shore

Teghan Shore has a diverse range of work experience in the field of animal care and research. Teghan most recently worked for Blue Ocean Barns as a Laboratory Operations Manager, responsible for managing the operations of the company's laboratory. Prior to that, they were the Carboy Nursery Manager at the same company. Teghan also worked as an Aquaculture Technician & Designer at Blue Ocean Barns.

Before joining Blue Ocean Barns, Teghan worked as an Installer II at Aquaneering Inc., where they were involved in installation projects. Teghan also gained experience as a Deckhand and Naturalist at Oceanside Adventures, where they worked on a boat and educated passengers about the marine life they encountered.

Teghan worked as an Operations Associate at SeaLife Aquarium, where they educated the public about local animals and shark conservation. Teghan also served as a Research Assistant at Gray Whales Count, conducting surveys on Gray Whales and processing data using a custom data manager.

Teghan has also worked as a Research Assistant for the Delphinid Conservation Ecology Project, conducting surveys on cetacean species and evaluating their behavior. Teghan gained further experience as an Animal Handler at Helen Woodward Animal Center, responsible for the care of a variety of animals.

Previously, Teghan worked as an Aquarist Intern at Central Coast Aquarium, taking care of exhibits and occasionally assisting with educational programs. Teghan also interned at Nurtured By Nature, where they cared for animals and prepared them for interactions with children with developmental disabilities. Additionally, they served as an Animal Caretaker at Hounds to Horses, where they were responsible for the care of over 20 horses.

Teghan Shore began their education journey in 2012 by pursuing a degree in Animal Science with a focus on Zoology/Animal Biology at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Teghan successfully completed their undergraduate program in 2016. In the same year, Teghan also attended the U.S. Career Institute, where they obtained a certificate in Veterinary Assistant.
