John Erland Østergaard

John Erland Østergaard has extensive work experience in the robotics industry. John Erland is currently working at Blue Ocean Robotics as a Board Member and the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder. At Blue Ocean Robotics, they are involved in the development of collaborative mobile robots for professional service applications.

Additionally, John has worked as the Director and Partner at Blue Ocean Robotics since December 2012. John Erland has also held roles as a Co-CEO and Co-owner at Third Element Aviation GmbH, a company focused on creating smart systems for integrating drones into workflows.

Furthermore, John has served as a Board Member at UVD Robots, a company that creates mobile robots equipped with UV-C light for disinfecting rooms in various industries. John Erland has also held a position as a Board Member at WallMo A/S, which develops collaborative robots for the construction industry.

In the past, John has been involved in the medical field as a Board Member and Chairman of the Board of Directors at PTR Robots, a company that markets collaborative mobile robots for patient handling and rehabilitation in healthcare facilities.

Apart from their roles in the robotics industry, John has served as a Board Member and Co-owner at Fionia Lighting A/S, a lighting company. John Erland also has experience in academia, having worked as the Head of Department and Professor at the University of Southern Denmark.

Throughout their career, John has held various board member positions at companies such as Triax A/S, Scape Technologies A/S, and Alight Technologies A/S.

John Erland Østergaard obtained a PhD and M.Sc. degree in Physics (optics), Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science from the University of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitet) between 1986 and 1995. Following that, they pursued an eMBA degree in Technology Management and Innovation from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) between 2001 and 2003.
