Tyler Herman's work experience includes the following roles and positions:
1. Director of Partner Engagement at Blue Ridge Area Food Bank since March 2020.
2. Manager of Agency Relations and Programs at Blue Ridge Area Food Bank from March 2016 to March 2020.
3. Grants Manager at Blue Ridge Area Food Bank from October 2010 to May 2016, where they focused on seeking foundation and corporate grants to fund outreach programs.
4. NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor at ACAC Fitness & Wellness Center since June 2014, where they provide exercise prescriptions for clients and teaches group exercise classes.
5. Environmental Protection Officer at Canadian Cooperative Association from August 2008 to March 2009, where they were involved in field visits with farming cooperatives in Uganda.
Tyler Herman attended Humber College Business School from 2007 to 2008, where they earned a post-graduate diploma in International Project Management. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Guelph from 2002 to 2006 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development. Their field of study during their undergraduate years was focused on Rural Extensions and Agriculture.

Founded in 1981, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is the largest organization alleviating hunger in western and central Virginia. Headquartered in Verona, VA, we serve neighbors in need in 25 counties and nine cities through distribution centers in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester and Verona. We distribute nearly 22 million pounds of food annually to 109,500 people each month through a network of more than 400 community partners – food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, churches and other non-profit groups.
