Iris Felshman

Iris Felshman has diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. They started their career as a Bookseller at Barbara's Bookstore, where they developed strong customer service skills and a passion for continuous learning. They then worked as a Learning TEFL at The Language House, honing their teaching and communication abilities.

Following this, Iris worked as a Linux System Administrator at WiredTree, where they gained proficiency in managing web servers and excelled in problem-solving and teamwork. They took a brief break from work to enhance their programming skills and explore Linux further.

Iris then joined Conversant, initially as an Associate DevOps Engineer and later as a System Engineer. In these roles, they demonstrated expertise in Python and Puppet coding and collaborated on various projects involving ELK, PagerDuty, API integrations, Consul, AWS, Packer, Terraform, and general organization.

Afterwards, Iris worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Informatica, specializing in cloud technologies such as ELK and K8s. Their responsibilities included troubleshooting issues within the ELK cluster, optimizing settings, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple environments.

Currently, Iris is employed as a DevOps Engineer at Blue Sentry Cloud. They are actively involved in a cloud migration project, modifying scripts, maintaining Terraform installations, codifying the build process, and providing architectural insights. They have also authored a comprehensive walkthrough guide for the team.

Throughout their career, Iris has consistently showcased strong technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.

Iris Felshman completed their Associate of Applied Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at Wright College from 2008 to 2009. Afterward, they pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in English Language and Literature, General at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Iris Felshman obtained several certifications. Iris completed the "Introduction to C# Programming and Unity" course from Coursera in February 2021. In October 2020, they became a "Certified Incident Responder" and a "PagerDuty Foundational Practitioner" through PagerDuty. Iris also completed the "6.00.1x: Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python" course from edX in March 2017.

Iris Felshman pursued various certifications related to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Iris obtained the "AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner" certification in December 2022, the "AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate" certification in April 2023, the "AWS Certified Developer - Associate" certification in August 2022, and the "AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate" certification in June 2022.

Lastly, Iris Felshman obtained the "Terraform Associate 003" certification from Hachicorp in June 2023.
