Andy Chasin

Andy Chasin currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Health Policy at The George Washington University's Milken Institute School of Public Health and holds the position of Vice President of Federal Policy and Advocacy at Blue Shield of California since August 2010. Chasin successfully established the DC office for Blue Shield and has led federal government relations and advocacy efforts. Previous roles include Director of Public Policy and Associate General Counsel for Health Reform at Blue Shield, where responsibilities encompassed advising on healthcare policy, overseeing the implementation of federal health care reform, and engaging with trade organizations. Prior to Blue Shield, Chasin worked as Government Relations Counsel at Kaiser Permanente, focusing on legislative analysis, and served as Health Policy Counsel for the Senate Republican Policy Committee, providing analysis and guidance on health care legislation. Chasin obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Claremont McKenna College, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
