Gregg Shibata has over 20 years of work experience in healthcare and health technology. Gregg currently holds the position of Sr Principal, Corporate Development Investments at Blue Shield of California, where they manage the strategic venture investment program. Prior to this, they were the VP Payor Market Development at Quil, a digital health platform that offers personalized health journeys to consumers and their caregivers. From 2016 to 2021, Shibata worked as a Principal at Echo Health Ventures, where they played a key role in building and growing health care companies. Before that, they held various roles at Cambia Health Solutions, where they focused on business development and primary care innovation. Gregg also has experience in multi-stakeholder collaboratives, having served as Vice President at the Kansas City Quality Improvement Consortium and as a Consultant at the Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation. Shibata began their career as an Assistant English Teacher in the Japan Exchange Teaching Programme. Gregg holds a diverse range of skills and expertise in healthcare strategy, investment management, and consumer engagement.
Gregg Shibata attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1989 to 1996, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree. Gregg majored in Asian Studies with a focus on Japanese History.
