Vanessa Chan

Vanessa Chan is a strategic leader with extensive experience in corporate responsibility, strategic planning, and program development across various sectors. Currently serving as Chief of Staff and Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning and Performance at Blue Shield of California since August 2021, Vanessa has previously held significant roles at ServiceNow, where oversight of the inaugural Global Impact/ESG report contributed to a substantially improved MSCI rating. Prior experiences include senior positions at CSAA Insurance Group, American Red Cross, and Wardrobe for Opportunity, where Vanessa successfully implemented programs that enhanced brand visibility, increased revenue, and expanded corporate partnerships. Vanessa's career began with early roles at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and American Heart Association, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
