Kelly Wessel

Kelly Wessel has a diverse work experience spanning different educational roles. Kelly began their career as a teacher at Raytown South Sr. High School in 2004 and taught there until 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Kansas State University. Kelly then moved on to Mill Valley High School, where they were a teacher from 2009 to 2012. Kelly then joined Unified School District No. 232 as a Secondary Curriculum Coordinator from 2012 to 2013. Kelly's next role was at the Blue Valley School District, where they held multiple positions. Kelly started as an Education Services Support Team member from 2013 to 2016. From 2016 to 2023, they served as Director of Professional Learning. Currently, Kelly is working as the Director of Human Resources - Recruitment & Retention at Blue Valley School District.

Kelly Wessel holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from Kansas State University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2001. Kelly then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Rockhurst University from 2002 to 2004. Kelly's educational journey continued with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University, which they completed from 2008 to 2015.
