Lorna Riach

Lorna Riach possesses extensive experience in quality operations, currently serving as Vice President of Quality Operations at bluebird bio since September 2017, where previously held roles include Senior Director, Director, Associate Director, and Senior Manager within the same department. Prior to this, Lorna Riach worked at Boston Children's Hospital from May 2001 to September 2017, managing quality programs for clinical laboratories and ensuring compliance with regulations as Quality Assurance Manager for the Transfusion Medicine Service. Earlier experience includes serving as Supervisor in a Blood Bank Laboratory and as a Reference Laboratory Technologist at the Association of Independent Blood Centers, Inc. Lorna Riach began a career in the medical field as a Blood Bank Medical Technologist at UNC Health Care. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Critical and Creative Thinking from UMass Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from Northeastern University.
