Matthew Crane

Matthew Crane has a long history of experience in academic and professional settings. Matthew began their career in 2008 as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Matthew then took on an Environmental Intern role at Rayonier in 2009. In 2011, they began their PhD Candidate role at the University of Washington, where they investigated high pressure, high temperature phase transformations of nanostructured materials in laser-heated diamond anvil cells. In 2018, they became a Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington. In 2019, they Co-Founded and became the Chief Science Officer at BlueDot Photonics. Most recently, in 2022, they began their role as Assistant Professor at the Colorado School of Mines.

Matthew Crane completed their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Nanotechnology Certificate from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington, which they completed in 2014. Matthew continued at the University of Washington to earn their Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering in 2015.
