Matthew Katz

Matthew Katz is an experienced professional in outdoor therapy and youth mentorship with a strong background in diversity and community engagement. Currently serving as Head Instructor at blueFire Wilderness, an outdoor therapy program, Matthew previously worked as a Backcountry Field Guide at Deschutes Wilderness Therapy and a Camp Counselor at Brave Trails, a summer camp tailored for LGBTQ+ youth. Prior experience includes an Asset Management Analyst role at Goldman Sachs within the Launch With GS initiative, which focuses on supporting diverse entrepreneurs, and Collaborative Programming Manager at the University of Oregon Outdoor Program, where Matthew led the "Redefining Outdoorsy" initiative to promote equity in outdoor spaces. Matthew’s early career included roles as a Student Ambassador and Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Oregon, further complemented by international consulting experiences. Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon.
