Angela Gutierrez has a strong background in research and teaching. Angela began their career at the University of Kentucky, where they held various positions including Graduate Research Assistant, Postdoctoral Researcher, Teaching Assistant, and PHD Candidate. During their time at the university, Angela also served as the University of Kentucky Superfund Center Liaison. In 2020, they joined Bluegrass Advanced Materials LLC as a Senior Scientist 1. Prior to their work at the University of Kentucky, Angela gained teaching experience at Universidad de los Andes as a Teaching Assistant in both the Chemistry Department and the Chemical Engineering Department. Additionally, they worked as a Tutor at Ideas Asesores, providing additional classes to students from primary to undergraduate programs in various subjects. Angela's expertise includes chemistry, calculus, biology, algebra, probability and statistics, English, Spanish, and IB.

Angela Gutiérrez has an extensive education history with a focus on chemical and materials engineering. Angela began their academic journey at Colegio Colombo Británico, where they obtained their IB Diploma from 1991 to 2006. Angela then pursued their undergraduate studies at Universidad de Los Andes, where they earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from 2006 to 2011. Subsequently, they continued their education at the same institution and obtained a degree in Chemistry, specializing in Science: Chemistry, from 2007 to 2012. Finally, Angela pursued their doctoral studies as a PhD student at the University of Kentucky, specializing in Chemical and Materials Engineering from 2012 to 2018.
