Joe Sheldon

Joe Sheldon has a diverse background in software engineering and research. Joe currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer at BlueInk since March 2022. Previously, they worked as a Software Engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat from July 2018 to March 2022. Prior to that, they held positions at the University of Connecticut, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from May 2017 to May 2018, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2016 to May 2018. Additionally, they served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Penn State University from October 2014 to August 2016 and as an REU Student at Purdue University in May 2015. Joe has experience in various projects, including building data acquisition instrumentation, developing firmware and control software, and conducting research in astrophysics and calibration/data analysis.

Joe Sheldon attended South Western High School from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Joe then pursued their undergraduate studies at Penn State University from 2012 to 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics. Concurrently, they also completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State University during the same period. Following that, Joe enrolled at the University of Connecticut from 2016 to 2018, working towards a Ph.D. in Physics.
