Lara Steele

Lara Steele, PhD, has a diverse work experience in corporate communications, strategy development, and research. Lara currently serves as the Director of Corporate Communications at BlueRock Therapeutics. Prior to that, they worked at Biogen as the Head of R&D Communications Strategy & Engagement, where they developed and executed communication strategies to support R&D goals. Lara also held various roles at Biogen, including Associate Director of R&D Strategy & Portfolio Leadership and Communications Lead for Portfolio Transformation. Additionally, Lara worked as the Senior Manager of Communications at Pfizer and as the Associate Director of Development at City of Hope. Lara began their career at Claremont Graduate University as a Certified IRB Analyst and Research Assistant, and later worked as a Research Assistant at Geisinger Medical Center. Lara also gained experience as a Photography Assistant and Research Assistant at Boston College Media Technology Services. Lara started their career as a Research Intern at SEDA-COG.

Lara Steele, PhD earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Studio Art (Photography) from Boston College in 2007. Lara then went on to complete their Master of Arts in Political Science and Global Health, as well as their PhD, from Claremont Graduate University, graduating in 2014. In addition to their academic achievements, Lara has obtained certifications as a Crisis Communications Specialist from PRSA in March 2019 and as a Certified IRB Professional in October 2011.
