Kasia Kochersperger

Kasia Kochersperger has a diverse work experience. Kasia began their career in 2010 as a Research Intern at Leiden University, where they worked on a BSc minor research project on the regeneration of zebrafish larvae tails. In 2011, they returned to Leiden University as a Research Assistant and Research Intern, where they conducted a BSc major research project on the inhibitory effects of penolic acids on Phytophthora. In 2012, they were a Research Intern at Agroscope Reckenholz-Tänikon Research Station ART, where they worked on a MSc major research project on the influence of soil type and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on nutrient leaching and biomass production. In 2013, they were a Research Intern at Penn State University, where they worked on a MSc minor research project on the proteomics of Ophiocordyceps fungi. In 2014, they were a Research Assistant at Universiteit Utrecht, where they were part of the mycelium design project of the microbiology research group. In 2016, they were a Research Technician at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2018, they began working at Kop-Coat, Inc. as a Microbiologist/Mycologist, where they maintained a microbiological laboratory and expertise, cultured and identified fungi and other microorganisms, and designed and ran experiments according to industry standards. In 2021, they began working at BlueSphere Bio as an Associate Scientist, Sr. Research Associate, and Research Associate.

Kasia Kochersperger completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology, General at Leiden University from 2008 to 2011. Kasia then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Microbiology, General at Utrecht University from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Minor in Art Conservation and Restoration at the University of Amsterdam in 2007-2008. In 2006-2007, they attended Leiden University, but did not pursue a degree.
