Kerim Karabas

Kerim Karabas is a Senior Engineering Manager at BlueWave Solar. Kerim previously worked as a Project Development Engineer at Greenskies from March 2021 to April 2022. In this role, they provided due diligence information and feasibility analysis of potential land acquisitions, created solar site review and developing environmental constraints maps using GIS tools for potential new projects/opportunities to determine overall site viability, and worked closely with Project Developers and Business Development team in order to receive the permits of state and town, and interconnection approvals with a timely manner. Kerim also created preliminary drawings including site plans in AutoCAD based on the code requirements, made accurate system performance models in PVsyst and HelioScope, and created system optimization of design variants during the development of the projects according to engineering site surveys using civil, environmental and interconnection considerations. Additionally, they assessed and determined Point of Interconnection (POI) location and the point of common coupling requirements according to utilities (Desktop and site visits), and managed interconnection process (utility point of contact, drafting interconnection requests, reviewing preliminary interconnection feedback, reviewing and analyzing studies, and negotiating generator interconnection agreements) in order to make sure about receiving the interconnection approvals.

During their time at Greenskies, they also managed 3rd party civil design contactors, environmental and electrical engineers, and permit partners and reviewed their work product. Kerim reviewed, assessed, and clarified results of third-party studies (Critical Issues Analysis, ESA phase
