Caimei Z.

Caimei Z. currently serves as Principal Scientist at BlueWhale Bio, leading a Biology team in collaboration with UPenn on immune cell activation and expansion for adoptive cell therapy. Prior to this role, Caimei Z. was a Senior Research Investigator at the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies at UPenn, where multiple projects focused on NK cell therapy for cancer were initiated and led. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University, studying cardiomyocyte mechanotransduction and cardiac regeneration, and another Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Iowa, which investigated heart failure mechanisms. Caimei Z. began a career in academia as a Pathology lecturer at Qingdao Health School and holds a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the Institute of Health Sciences at Shanghai JiaoTong University School of Medicine.
