Jim Simpson

Jim Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jim is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Blumira since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the VP of Product at Blumira from January 2021 to December 2021. Before joining Blumira, Jim worked at Duo Security for nearly a decade, holding various positions including Director of Product Management, Group Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, and Product Manager. Jim played a crucial role in expanding Duo Security's two-factor authentication service and establishing it as a trusted security solution.

Jim also worked at Baron Glassworks as an Assistant, where they helped maintain the IT infrastructure and provided assistance in organization, marketing, administration, and instructing novice students. At Arbor Networks, they served as an Engineering Manager and UX Director, leading software development for a new product and managing the company-wide user experience team. Additionally, they worked as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, Sr. Software Engineer, and Software Engineer, contributing to the development of various network security products.

Earlier in their career, Jim worked at HealthMedia as a Web Developer, responsible for building and maintaining web-based user interfaces. Jim also worked as a Research Scientist at NovoDynamics, Inc., where they developed custom software for natural language processing and pattern recognition systems.

Jim's work experience began at the University of Michigan, where they served as a Consultant. Throughout their career, they have showcased their expertise in product management, engineering, UX design, and software development, contributing to the growth and success of the organizations they have been a part of.

Jim Simpson received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science and Japanese from the University of Michigan, where they studied from 1993 to 1998. In addition, they obtained a certification in Leadership Management and Development from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in December 2010.
