Rodrigo da Costa

Previs / Layout Artist at Blur Studio

Rodrigo Da Costa has a diverse work experience spanning from 2009 to 2021. Rodrigo started their career as a Maya Instructor at Cadritech in 2009. In 2011, they worked as a Layout Artist and Animator at Ellipse Studio before joining Studio 100 Animation as a Previz/Layout Artist in 2012. Later that year, they became a Second Assistant Director at Ellipse Studio. In 2013, they worked as a Pre-visualization/Layout Artist at ON Animation Studio.

In 2015, Rodrigo began freelancing as a CG Layout/Previs/Technical Artist. During this time, they also worked as a Character Animator at Mikros Image. In 2016, they took on the role of Animation Director at AMOPIX, where they co-wrote, directed, rigged, and animated a 2-minute film for the ESF association.

From 2020 to 2021, Rodrigo worked at Wildlife Studios as a Game Artist, Unity Cinematics expert, and Previsualization Services Provider. Currently, they are a Previs/Layout Artist at Blur Studio, starting in December 2021. Rodrigo Da Costa's work experience showcases their expertise in various areas of animation, including layout, previs, character animation, and directing.

Rodrigo Da Costa's education history includes several educational experiences in the field of animation and interactive media design. In 2005, they attended the DRC - Training Center, where they focused on animation, interactive technology, video graphics, and special effects. Rodrigo also studied game and interactive media design at the Universidade Anhembi Morumbi in the same year. In 2006, Rodrigo attended MELIES - Escola de Cinema, 3D e Animação, where they specialized in traditional sculpture. Rodrigo then pursued a certificate in character animation at the Vancouver Film School from 2008 to 2009. Later, in 2010, they attended GOBELINS Paris for a summer school program in character animation and Animation A Team for creature animation.
