Yvon Halbwachs

Chief Scientific Architect at Bluware

Yvon Halbwachs has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of scientific programming and software development. Yvon started their career in 1994 with a training period at BRGM and later worked as a researcher at BRGM and Sintef, where they led projects related to geological structures and fault networks modeling.

In 2000, Yvon joined SimSurgery AS as a Senior Software Developer and System Architect, where they contributed to the development of simulators for surgical training using advanced VR technology. Yvon was also involved in the development of a patent for real-time 3D simulation of deformable objects.

In 2008, Yvon joined Kalkulo AS as a Senior Scientific Programmer and later became the Chief Scientific Programmer. Yvon led projects focused on wind farm analysis and visual quality control of meteorological data for clients such as Statkraft. Yvon also played a role in developing the Kalkulo Application Framework, a software development framework used by the company.

In 2019, Yvon joined Bluware as the Chief Scientific Architect and Chief Scientific Programmer, where they continue to leverage their expertise in scientific programming and architectural design.

Yvon Halbwachs has a diverse education history that spans several institutions and fields of study. Yvon started their education at Collège Grégoire de Tours in Marlenheim, where they completed their college studies from 1981 to 1985. Yvon then attended Lycée International des Pontonniers in Strasbourg and earned their BAC Section C degree in Sciences from 1985 to 1988.

Yvon pursued higher education at Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg I). From 1988 to 1991, they obtained an Associate's Degree (Deug A) with a focus on Mathematics. Afterwards, from 1991 to 1992, they achieved a Bachelor's degree (License) in Computer Sciences. Yvon continued their studies at the same university and completed a Master's Degree (Maitrise) in Computer Sciences from 1992 to 1993.

Further expanding their knowledge, Yvon Halbwachs pursued a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Computer Science, Geometric modeling, and Topology at Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg I) from 1993 to 1994.

In 2012, Yvon attended Tekna for a project leader program.
