Jeff Landau is the Global Head of Enterprise Initiatives and a member of the BNY Mellon Executive Committee (EC). In this role, Jeff works closely with each EC member, line of business, corporate staff function and existing program leads to ensure the company executes high-priority, strategic projects on time and in accordance with the targeted outcomes.
Prior to his current role, Jeff served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer where he oversaw the lending activities of BNY Mellon’s Institutional Bank and ensured that credit commitments generated an appropriate return on capital through client use of the company's non-credit products and services. His responsibilities included coordinating with Global Client Management, the business groups and Risk, and facilitating the credit extension process.
Previously, Jeff served as CEO of BNY Mellon Cash Investment Strategies, which is responsible for the management of the company's short-term investment products, including the Dreyfus money market funds, offshore money market funds, securities lending cash collateral portfolios and collective/commingled funds.
In addition, Jeff served as Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the company, a position he held from June 2005 through December 2009. In that capacity, he had responsibility for the management of the company’s investment portfolio and balance sheet; asset/liability modeling; liquidity management; management of Federal Reserve positions; relationships with regulators on balance sheet matters; debt and equity issuance; and oversight of deposit pricing. In addition, the Liquidity Services money fund portal business reported to Jeff from July 2007 through December 2009.
Earlier in his career, Jeff was part of the senior team responsible for establishing the company's investment banking subsidiary, BNY Mellon Capital Markets, and managed or co-managed the syndicated lending, debt capital markets and sponsor leveraged lending groups. He joined the company in 1986 as a management trainee at the Irving Trust Company, which subsequently merged with The Bank of New York.
Jeff serves as a member of the Board of Trustees (and Finance and Investment Committees) of Golda Och Academy (a Jewish day school) and served as Board Chair from 2014 to 2016. He served as Treasurer and as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of DOROT, (a New York City charitable organization dedicated to providing food and services to the elderly), from 2000 through 2009, and is currently a member of its Honorary Board. Jeff is also a member of the Israel Bonds Metro New Jersey Executive Council.
Jeff has a BA degree from the University of Virginia (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude) and an MBA from Columbia University.
