Bárbara Rivera Holmes is president and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, a business advocacy organization established in 1909 and whose focus is to create the conditions for economic growth and opportunity.
The Albany Area Chamber has eight core divisions that support the membership the community and a growing business environment: small business; economic development; tourism; military affairs; governmental affairs; education and work force development; leadership development; and membership. The Albany Area Chamber manages the Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau, which supports tourism-related economic development.
Holmes was previously vice president of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission, where she oversaw the development of the agency’s brand, its marketing campaigns and developed its successful business retention and expansion program, which facilitates existing industry job creation and capital investment in Albany-Dougherty County.
