Before their social work experiences, Kristie had a career in design. Kristie worked as a Graphic Designer at GQ Magazine from February 2016 to March 2018. Prior to that, they served as an Associate Art Director at Popular Mechanics, under Hearst Magazines, from June 2013 to March 2015. Furthermore, they had various roles within O Magazine at Hearst Magazines, including Graphic Designer from May 2012 to October 2012, Digital Editions Designer from February 2011 to May 2012, and Art Assistant from August 2010 to February 2011.

Kristie also gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the School of Visual Arts from September 2010 to May 2011.
