Miguel Abreu Fernandes

Miguel Abreu Fernandes is a seasoned engineer and physicist with extensive experience in electronics, medical devices, and particle physics. Currently serving as a Senior Electronics Engineer at BOBST since June 2024 and as an Instrumentation Physicist at Advanced Oncotherapy plc since May 2021, Miguel has previously contributed as an R&D Engineer at Menicon, focusing on developing medical devices for ophthalmology. With a strong foundation in cryogenic technology gained during tenure at CERN, which included roles as a Project Associate and Marie Curie Fellow, Miguel has demonstrated expertise in developing advanced monitoring systems for particle beams. A well-rounded background in data analysis and software solutions is complemented by degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from esteemed institutions, including a PhD from the University of Liverpool.
