Alexander Haydl

Alexander Haydl has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. Alexander is currently working at Boehringer Ingelheim as a Project Manager (Senior Associate Director), where they have been since September 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Product Owner and Head of Development Laboratory (Principal Scientist) at the same company from April 2021 to September 2023.

Alexander has also worked as a University Lecturer at Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) since October 2022, where they lecture on the topic of "Figures and KPIs in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry" as an honorary position sponsored by the Department of Chemistry.

Before joining Boehringer Ingelheim and RPTU, Alexander worked at BASF as an R&D Teamleader for Homogeneous Catalysis and Synthesis from September 2017 to March 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Postdoc (DAAD Fellow) at the University of California, Berkeley from July 2016 to September 2017, working in the group of Prof. Dr. John F.

Alexander Haydl has an extensive education history. Alexander obtained their Abitur from GHSE Emmendingen in 2005, majoring in Informationstechnisches Gymnasium. Alexander then went on to pursue a degree in Medizinische Mikrobiologie und Bakteriologie at The University of Freiburg from 2005 to 2006 for their Zivildienst. Following that, they completed their Dipl.-Chem. in Chemie at The University of Freiburg from 2006 to 2012. During their studies, they conducted research activities at The University of Texas at Austin from 2009 to 2010, focusing on Organic Chemistry under Professor Dr. Michael Krische. Alexander continued their education by earning a Betriebswirt (VWA) degree from VWA Hochschule für berufsbegleitendes Studium from 2014 to 2017. Alexander then pursued a Dr. rer. nat. in Organische Chemie at The University of Freiburg from 2012 to 2016. Currently, they are enrolled in an Executive MBA program at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, from 2021 to 2023.
