Doris Riether has over two decades of experience in medicinal chemistry, currently serving as Director for both Cardiometabolic Diseases and Animal Health at Boehringer Ingelheim since July 2002. Riether's previous roles at Boehringer Ingelheim include Director positions focused on CNS and Cardiometabolic Diseases, as well as leadership roles in research projects related to inflammation and CNS. Prior to Boehringer Ingelheim, Riether was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Columbia University. Riether holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Vienna and has educational experience as an ERASMUS student at University College Dublin, along with a Diplom in Chemistry from Universität Innsbruck.
