Giuseppe Bruschetta

Principal Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim

Giuseppe Bruschetta started their work experience in 2011 as a Student Researcher at the University of Messina, where they investigated systemic inflammation and oxidative stress. Giuseppe continued to work at the university as a Ph.D. student researcher, focusing on neurodegenerative diseases and pharmaceutical research related to Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. In 2015, Giuseppe joined the Yale University School of Medicine as a Ph.D. visiting student/researcher, studying the phenotype of specific PRCP knockout mice and learning about central regulation of glucose metabolism. Giuseppe then became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Yale, leading various projects related to energy and glucose homeostasis and exploring the connection between major depressive disorders and decreased body weight. In 2019, they joined CPQ Medicine Journal as an Editorial Board Member. Lastly, in 2020, Giuseppe became a Senior Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim, and later transitioned to the role of Principal Scientist.

Giuseppe Bruschetta obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Messina between 2007 and 2011. Giuseppe then pursued a Master of Science degree in the same field from the same university during 2012 and 2013. Finally, from 2014 to 2017, Giuseppe completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Messina as well as Yale University.
