Jakub Petyniak has a diverse work experience. Jakub started their career as a Program Assistant/Head Lifeguard at the University of Minnesota Recreation and Wellness in 2013, where they worked until February 2016. Following that, they worked as a Forestry GIS Intern at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources from February 2016 to June 2016. Later, they joined Spatial Data Integrations, Inc. in June 2016 as a Geospatial Analyst, responsible for completing imagery assignments and conducting feature extraction tasks using GIS processes. In January 2017, Jakub started working at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics as a Geospatial Analyst/IT Support, and they held this role until March 2021. During their tenure at Boeing, they also served as the Branch Manager from June 2019 to March 2021, where they managed personnel, conducted performance evaluations, and provided career guidance. After that, they briefly worked as the Chief of Staff from March 2021 to December 2022. Currently, Jakub is a Project Management Specialist at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, starting in December 2022.

Jakub Petyniak attended the University of Minnesota from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography. During their time at the university, Jakub also pursued additional certification courses. In June 2015, they obtained certification as an Open Water Diver from Scuba Schools International. Additionally, in May 2015, Jakub obtained certification as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, although the institution from which they obtained this certification is not provided.
