James Hanley

Project Test Pilot

James Hanley has extensive experience in aviation, particularly in test piloting and program management. Key roles include serving as Director of Global Mobility Aircraft Testing at the Air Force Flight Test Center and Director of Avionics Development for the KC-46 Program Management Office within the United States Air Force. Over a career spanning more than a decade, James has led significant teams and projects, including managing a 450-person test force responsible for high-value testing programs and directing flight operations for over 100 elevated-risk test missions. James is currently a Project Test Pilot at Boeing, specializing in elevated-risk flight tests on new aircraft designs. Educational qualifications include a BS and MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the US Air Force Academy and the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, respectively, as well as training as an Experimental Test Pilot at the USAF Test Pilot School.
