Brandi Sangunett is a seasoned environmental professional with extensive experience in ecological assessment and project coordination. Currently serving as a NEPA Coordinator at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management since May 2019, Brandi is involved in the Office of Renewable Energy Programs. Prior experience includes a notable role as an Ecologist at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from February 2006 to May 2019, focusing on licensing hydropower projects and environmental impact assessments through NEPA. Brandi also held positions as an intern in the Wildlife Trade Program at Conservation International and as a Program Coordinator at Massachusetts Audubon Society, where Brandi developed volunteer training materials. Early career involvement included coordinating and training volunteers for the Illinois EcoWatch Network through AmeriCorps and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Educational credentials include an MS in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and dual BS degrees in Zoology and Geography from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, a bureau in the U.S. Department of the Interior, is the Federal agency that manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources, and the development of offshore renewable energy on the outer continental shelf (OCS). The program is national in scope and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Regional offices are located in New Orleans, Louisiana.; Camarillo, California, northwest of Los Angeles; and Anchorage, Alaska.
