Carlos F. Lopez

Carlos F. Lopez brings over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, security operations, executive protection, risk and security management. Carlos serves as a senior site vulnerability assessor for BGI. In this capacity, Carlos evaluates risk for various sites including high-rise buildings, movie studios, and residential homes for the safety and security of the site and its occupants. Carlos provides positive and trusting collaboration with our clients on every assessment and strives to build relationships with all involved before, during, and after he conducts site assessments. In addition to his role as an assessor, Carlos oversees the hiring, training, and mentorship of all security officers staffed by BGI.

Prior to joining BGI, Carlos spent fifteen years in law enforcement working in a variety of assignments including investigations, training, gang and narcotics enforcement, and internal affairs. As a police sergeant, he oversaw the Department’s Critical Incident Response Team and as a detective, he worked homicide and robbery. Carlos was awarded one of the department’s highest honors, the Medal of Courage for his acts of Bravery.

After law enforcement, Carlos worked in the private sector as a security director for several high-rise building accounts in downtown Los Angeles. He was responsible for the safety and security of thousand of employees at various locations including the Bank of America Plaza and the Ernst & Young building. Carlos also spent time working as a district manager for multiple financial institutions and he was responsible for the Emergency Response Team (ERT) training for employees, incident management, business continuity, workplace violence prevention, and consumer data protection.

Carlos is a former United States Marine and is a Cerified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security).
