Scott Lowe

Associate Dean, Graduate College at Boise State University

Scott Lowe is currently the Associate Dean of the Graduate College at Boise State University. Scott has held many positions in academia and the private sector throughout their career.

Scott Lowe began their career as an Advertising Intern at the Santa Barbara Independent in 1990. Scott then became a Summer Orientation Counselor at UC Santa Barbara from 1989 to 1991. After that, they worked as a Sales Associate at Circuit City from 1991 to 1993. From there, they became a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Economics at Oregon State University from 1993 to 1995.

In 1995, Lowe began working in the private sector as the OEM/VAR Manager at Rogue Wave Software. Scott then became a Senior Sales Associate at Talarian Corporation from 1998 to 1999. In 1999, they transitioned back into academia, becoming a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at UC Santa Barbara, where they worked until 2005.

In 2005, Lowe began working at Boise State University, where they have held various positions over the years, including Associate Dean of the Graduate College, which they have been in since 2019.

Dr. Scott Lowe received their PhD in Environmental Economics from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Environmental Science and Management also from the Bren School, as well as a Master of Science in Economics from Oregon State University. Scott completed their undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Economics & Environmental Studies.
