Derek Olinger

Principal Engineer/project Manager at Bolton & Menk, Inc.

Derek Olinger has been working in the field of engineering since 2012. Derek started their career as an Engineer In Training at American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET), where they worked for two years. In 2014, they joined Bolton & Menk, Inc. as a Principal Engineer/Project Manager. At Bolton & Menk, Inc., Derek is responsible for managing projects and serving as the city engineer for several municipalities in southeast Minnesota. Their work primarily focuses on municipal streets, water and sewer systems, but they also have experience in private site design and review. Derek's expertise includes street design and construction for various types of projects, such as local, county state aid, trunk highway, and trail projects.

Derek Olinger received their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Derek attended the university from 2009 to 2012. In December 2016, Derek obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID.
