Jacob Bongard began their work experience in 2007 as an Engineering Intern at Bolton & Menk. Jacob then transitioned to the role of Principal Transportation Engineer in 2010. In this role, they performed traffic operations analysis, wrote reports for traffic studies, developed design concepts, and completed various design and analysis tasks using Microstation and AutoCAD. Jacob also attended meetings and presented study findings to officials and residents. Additionally, they aided in the completion of grant applications and worked with the City of Bloomington and City of St. Louis Park engineering staff on traffic-related projects.
Jacob Bongard earned their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Dakota from 2005 to 2009. Jacob obtained additional certifications including a Professional Engineer certification from the state of Minnesota in December 2014 and a Signal and Lighting Installation certification from MnDOT in June 2014. In July 2016, they obtained the Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification, although the institution where they obtained it is unspecified.
