Daniel DiBardino has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical field. Daniel has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Scientific Research and Writing Fellow at Texas Children's Hospital in 2002. Daniel then pursued their General Surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine from 2000 to 2007. Daniel later worked as a Cardiac Surgeon at Harvard Medical School from 2007 to 2010 and subsequently at the University of Michigan Health System from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as a Cardiac Surgeon at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Daniel joined UC San Diego Health in 2013 as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon until 2016.

In 2016, Daniel took on the role of a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation and Hennepin County Medical Center. During their time there, they performed traditional open heart and minimally invasive surgeries and gained proficiency in advanced minimally invasive and percutaneous heart surgery. Daniel also held leadership positions as Site Director of Cardiac Surgery and Surgical ECMO Director.

In 2015, Daniel founded their own company called Lifescience Assessment Solutions, LLC, where they served as the Founder and CEO.

Daniel's most recent work experience is with Bon Secours Mercy Health. Daniel started in 2018 as a Cardiac Surgeon and Structural Heart Specialist. Daniel later took on various leadership positions within the organization, including Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery for the Northwestern Ohio Region and Medical Director of ECMO services and CVTICU for the Northeast Ohio Region. In December 2020, they became the Medical Director of ECMO Services for the Northwest Ohio Region.

Daniel DiBardino obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Human Physiology from Michigan State University in the years 1992-1996. Following this, they attended Wayne State University School of Medicine for their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in the field of Medicine from 1996-2000. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Specialty Certificate in Congenital Cardiac Surgery from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in December 2012, as well as another certification from the same board in December 2011.
