John F. McKay

John McKay is a litigation and health care attorney with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of litigation and an in depth knowledge of litigation support for long term care providers in contract, commercial matters, employment, guardianships, medical malpractice, personal injury and civil rights issues.

John has focused his representation on matters involving general litigation defense, jury and bench trials as well as administrative hearings, representing insureds and self-insureds involving matters including representation of municipalities and school districts involved as defendants in civil rights claims, liability claims involving negligence and matters pertaining to contract and employment law and contract matters for health care organizations.

John began his practice in 1985 as an Assistant District Attorney with the Nassau County District Attorney. After his initial work in the trial parts he was selected to participate as an Assistant working in the Special Investigations Bureau handling cases involving public integrity and official corruption, successfully investigating and prosecuting a myriad of defendants in the public sector. John’s background includes seven years of litigation representing and defending one of the largest public utilities in the State of New York in various venues and forums as well as defending numerous landowners in premises liability cases and various manufacturers in product liability cases throughout the country.
