Director, Technical Support at Book4Time

James Carey, Bcomm, PMP has over 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry. James began their career in 2007 as Director, Human Resources Systems, Technology for FRHI Hotels & Resorts. In this role, they were responsible for all Human Resources technology systems and acted as Program Director, scoping, developing, testing and implementing the employment recruitment software platform known as SaaS. James also cultivated vendor relationships while maintaining all centrally based HR and ancillary applications. In addition, they served as Director - Regional Technology (North America), managing the North American IT Management Team and providing 24/7 IT Helpdesk support to 125 hotels.

In 2015, James moved to AccorHotels, taking on the role of Director - Project Systems Projects and Compliance. In this role, they set the strategic direction while managing the Regional Project Management Department and was responsible for financial IT audit and PCI compliancy requirements for the region. James also led development of project charter and scope including, design, implementation and ongoing support of multi-platform solutions while engaging involvement of key departments and external vendors. James also served as Director - Property Systems Projects, assisting hotels in project budgeting and securing funding from hotel ownership groups, as well as leading crisis management teams in 24/7 IT support model for all hotels globally.

Most recently, James joined Book4Time Inc. in 2021 as Director, Technical Support. In this role, they report to the CEO and heads the Level 2 and interface deployment teams. James's primary responsibility is to better improve the customer experience and build emotional loyalty allowing greater impact to overall sales and revenue.

James Carey attended the Haskayne School of Business from 1993 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in General Studies. In 2011, they earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. In 2020, they obtained Assessor Certification: Various Classes from the PCI Security Standards Council.
