Berit then assumed the role of assistant to the foreign correspondent in Stockholm at ARD - Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der BRD. Following this, Bretschneider worked as a social media editor at Expressen.
In 2015, they became the editorial manager for the German website at Evertiq - Fast News For The Global Electronics Industry, where they were responsible for researching and writing articles and interviews to optimize reader numbers.
Bretschneider's most recent work experience includes positions at BookBeat, starting as a marketing coordinator for Germany in 2016 and progressing to marketing manager and ultimately marketing director DACH. Berit Bretschneider completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics and Skandinavistik at Universität Greifswald from 2009 to 2012. Berit then pursued their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Northern European studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they received a DAAD scholarship and worked on their Masterthesis at the Selma Lagerlöf archive in Stockholm. Additionally, Berit also attended Mälardalen University from 2010 to 2011, although the degree obtained during this time is not specified.
