Kayla Calkin

Kayla Calkin is an experienced political and advocacy professional currently serving as Colorado State Director for Harris for President since August 2024. Calkin has held the position of Federal Campaigns Director at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since February 2022, overseeing a team and managing a substantial advocacy budget. Prior roles include Political Director at the NRDC Action Fund, where Calkin developed coordinated campaign plans, and Federal Campaigns Manager at NRDC, where Calkin led national campaigns on offshore drilling accountability. Earlier experience includes leadership positions with the Ohio Democratic Party, Hillary for America, and campaign management for local candidates, complemented by freelance writing for BookRags, Inc., where Calkin authored teacher study guides. Calkin holds a BA in Women's Studies and Political Science from Wellesley College and an MA in Public Policy and Women's Studies from The George Washington University.
