Senior Software Engineer at Boom Sports

Christy Welsh began their career in 2019 as a Jr Software Engineer at Trifecta Clinical, a WCG company that provides technology solutions for pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research organizations. In this role, they collaborated with the director of engineering, creative director, and agile product owner to bring user stories to life. Christy added new features, wrote REST APIs, squashed bugs, and updated deprecated code using React Native, Android Studio, Xcode and a PHP/SQL backend, in order to improve UX and overall app functionality. Christy also prepared iOS and Android builds for delivery to the Apple and Google Play Stores to increase the company's number of mobile users. In 2021, Christy Welsh joined Boom Entertainment as a Software Engineer II. In this role, they wrote a backend microservice that handles cash and points transactions for withdrawals and payments to Boom's Daily Fantasy Sports app, which collected over $100,000 in entries in one day just 4 months after launch. Christy also launched new JSON event tracking to support 1 million active monthly users shared by multiple free to play apps in order to reduce costs and streamline Boom's use of Confluent Kafka. Additionally, they developed an interactive ranking system for over 500k users by creating the backend of a new leaderboard feature, which drove the Tim Horton's Hockey Challenge 2021-22 NHL season release.

Christy Welsh has completed a variety of educational programs. Christy has taken full stack development courses, earned a teaching credential in mathematics from Patten University, obtained a certificate in technical and professional writing from San Francisco State University, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from California State University, Hayward.
