Katy Farina has a diverse work experience in the field of illustration and comic art. Katy started their career as a freelance illustrator in 2005, offering their skills for various types and styles of illustration jobs. Katy then worked as an illustrator at Hullabalu from October 2012 to March 2015. Katy also provided private tutoring in Adobe Photoshop from January 2010 to 2012, offering one-on-one classes tailored to individual needs. Starting in 2014, Katy worked as a freelance comic artist for BOOM! Studios, creating comic books at different stages, including penciling, inking, and coloring. Katy also provided illustrations for book covers. Some notable projects during this time included "Steven Universe," "Capture Creatures," and "Munchkin," among others. In 2015, Katy joined Oni Press as a freelance comic artist, predominantly working as a colorist and providing illustrations for book covers. Katy'snotable projects at Oni Press include "Rick and Morty," "Invader Zim," and "Rick and Morty: Pocket Like You Stole It!" In 2016, Katy worked as a color stylist for the upcoming cartoon "Danger & Eggs" on a contract basis with PUNY, focusing on color styling for props, EFX, and characters. Most recently, they have been a background painter at DreamWorks Animation since November 2017.
Katy Farina attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design from 2005 to 2009, where they earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Illustration.
