Ray Thompson is the current advisor at Boomtown Accelerators. Ray has also worked with Gloo as the Head of Customer & Sales Operations and with VisionLink (CommunityOS) as the Senior Vice President | Corporate. At Gloo, they worked closely with the CEO, CRO, and CFO to form go-to-market strategies, product offerings, financial projections, and staffing plans. Ray was also responsible for optimizing all customer-facing processes (marketing and sales to delivery and account management/support), streamlining sales contract documents and processes, and consolidating dozens of systems into a unified sales and delivery operation. Ray implemented a competency-based talent management system and assembled and oversaw the sales team.
At VisionLink (CommunityOS), Ray successfully managed a multi-million dollar rebuild and launch of the company’s software platform in 2016. Ray assumed company-wide leadership working for the CEO and integrated the entire company from product and development to marketing and sales. Under their leadership, the company closed multi-year deals with United Way Worldwide ($5B), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ($7B), and American Red Cross ($3B). Ray also increased the user base by more than 70% while maintaining client retention at 98%. In addition, they increased sales velocity from an average of 18 months to 6 months (primarily Federal and State customer base) while expanding all new contracts from 1 year to 3/5-year master service agreements. Finally, they rebranded the company while streamlining overall marketing expenses by more than 40%. CommunityOS is the system of record for some of the largest nonprofit and governmental organizations and used to serve millions of people every year.
Ray Thompson has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business, and is a 50 for Colorado Class of 2011 graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business. Ray also has a master's degree in business administration from Miller-Heiman.
