Kang Sun

Kang has over 10 years of experience in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. In his prior job at Bloomberg, he led the Machine Learning - Pattern Recognition team, which worked on various Machine Learning models for market predictions and applications of Natural Language Processing in finance including: predicting IPO returns, predicting the impact of news on stock volatility, construction of factors based on news data and SEC filings, analysis of earnings calls transcripts, time-series analysis, and recommendation systems. Kang received his BS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS from the University of Illinois at Chicago. There, he was a former PhD candidate (ABD) in Computer Vision before joining Bloomberg.
