Amanda Blacker-Laybourn

Amanda Blacker-Laybourn is an experienced legal and governance professional with a background in both corporate law and sports administration. Currently serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director for England and Great Britain Hockey since May 2023, Amanda contributes to the oversight of elite hockey development and team performance. In February 2022, Amanda became the Head of Legal and Governance and DPO at Border To Coast Pensions Partnership, one of the UK's largest pension pools. Previous roles include Senior Legal Counsel at Aviva from 2013 to 2022 and Corporate Solicitor at Gordons LLP from 2008 to 2013. Amanda also has experience as a Banking Paralegal at Walker Morris and as a Legal Advisor for the Belize Agro-productive Sector Group. Educational qualifications include an LL.B (Hons) in Law from Liverpool John Moores University, an LL.M in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick, and completion of the LPC at The University of Law. Additionally, Amanda obtained governance qualifications from The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.
