Jose Campos

Trustee at Borrego Health

Jose Campos serves as Director of Parent Involvement and Community Outreach for the Jurupa Unified School District. In this capacity, he works with several non-profits and public agencies coordinating and expanding services throughout the community. These services include mental health, medical access and coverage, early childhood programs, case management services, and various parent engagement and parenting programs.

In 2012, he co-founded the Jurupa Valley Collaborative (a 2015 Riverside County Office of Education Models of Academic Excellence and Innovation program) to better coordinate services in school communities, and in 2013, was instrumental in opening the school district's first school-based health center operated by Borrego Health.

He continues to work towards expanding health and dental services in the area as well as focus on increasing opportunities and education in the school communities. By 2019, access to mental health services for Jurupa students increased significantly from being scarce to increasing funding for providers and partnering with providers for school-based services as well as launching a master-level intern-based program allowing for over 5% of the district's student body to be served.
