Alex Fernandes

Alex Fernandes has a diverse work experience, starting in 2005 as a Science Outreach Collaborator at the Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto. In this role, they gave public talks on astrophysical topics to children and explained physical sciences to the general public. Alex also directed astronomical observation sessions during the summer.

In 2009, Alex joined Borsa Italiana as an Analyst and Software Developer, where they developed new functionalities in a Trading platform used in the derivatives markets. Alex also troubleshooted the original solution and was involved in all aspects of the software life-cycle.

From 2012 to 2016, Alex served as a Senior IT Business Analyst at Borsa Italiana, where they acted as a Product Owner for a tier 1 software application. Alex managed stakeholder interaction, project tracking, analysis, and quality assurance. Alex collaborated with a distributed development team using SCRUM methodology.

In 2017, Alex transitioned to the role of Scrum Master at Borsa Italiana, where they energetically facilitated the cultural shift from waterfall to Agile. Alex coached several Agile teams and embraced the role of a true servant leader.

Most recently, in 2023, Alex assumed the position of Agile Delivery Lead at Borsa Italiana. The specific responsibilities and duration of this role have not been provided.
