Dr. Philipp Spies

Dr. Philipp Spies is an accomplished professional in the field of engineering and project management with extensive experience at Bosch and other organizations. Currently, Dr. Spies is preparing for the role of Head of Purchasing for Bosch Automotive China, following a position as CEO at copperdot from January 2022 to August 2024. Dr. Spies previously served as Head of Project Management Purchasing Control Units at Bosch and held leadership roles in project management and commodity purchasing at UAES. Dr. Spies has a long history at Bosch, including roles as Director and Senior Manager in Project Management Purchasing. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Engineering in Material Science from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. A corporate PhD was completed at Bosch in collaboration with the University of Karlsruhe, focusing on the fracture mechanics of (Inter-)Metallic Ceramic Compounds.
