Chip Ray's work experience begins in 1997 when they joined AVIRNEX Communications Group as the Manager of Network Operations. Chip held this position until 2000. In 2000, they joined uReach Technologies as a Systems Engineer and worked in this role until 2014. At uReach Technologies, they gained experience in system engineering and performed various technical tasks globally, including installations, troubleshooting, and training.

In 2014, Chip Ray moved on to GENBAND (acquired uReach Technologies) and worked as a Senior Operations Specialist. In this role, they managed the installation, upgrades, and configuration of the Linux-based voice mail platform. Chip also served as the project owner and lead engineer for uReach's largest customer, Verizon. Chip created and implemented unit-testing for lab and production environments. Chip collaborated closely with sales, support, and engineering teams to ensure customer satisfaction and delivered on expectations. Their work involved extensive technical tasks such as cabinet/rack installation, system configuration, and software verification at customer sites. Chip also traveled frequently for site surveys, installation, troubleshooting, and training. Chip participated in an on-call rotation.

In 2017, Chip Ray joined MapR Technologies as a Learning Experience Designer. Chip worked in this role until 2019, responsible for designing and developing learning experiences.

Currently, Chip works at BOSS AI as a Platform Engineer, starting in 2021.

Chip Ray attended Contra Costa College from 1990 to 1993, where they earned an Associates degree in Microprocessor Electronics.
