Erik Owens

Erik Owens serves as the Director of the Program on Global Ethics and Social Trust at Boston College, a position held since July 2006, focusing on enhancing interdisciplinary work among faculty to address declining trust in institutions and communities globally. Additionally, Erik Owens holds multiple academic titles, including Professor of the Practice in Theology and Director of the International Studies Program. Prior experience includes roles at the University of Chicago as a Teaching Intern, and at the Pew Research Center as a Research Associate. Erik Owens has also taught at DePaul University and conducted research for the City of Chicago Board of Ethics. Educational credentials include a PhD in Religious Ethics from the University of Chicago, a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and a BA in Religious Studies and Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
