Ben Shaffer

Ben Shaffer currently serves as Chief of Staff to the COO at Boston Medical Center, a position held since September 2023. Prior experience includes working as a Principal at Boston Consulting Group from February 2022 to September 2023, and holding various leadership roles within the State of Rhode Island's Executive Office of Health and Human Services from March 2016 to December 2021, including Medicaid Program Director and Chief Operating Officer. Ben has a strong background in project management, evidenced by the successful turnaround of a $364 million integrated eligibility system IT project. Additionally, experience includes roles in consulting and public engagement, including internships at The White House and several positions at The Boston Consulting Group. Ben holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from The Wharton School, and a B.A. from Yale University.
